7 Activities Done in Class
1. Charter Schools
In the beginning of the year, we learned about charter schools. I felt as though the classroom structure was interesting, but I would not personally venture into a charter school myself.
2. Administration Chat
One day in class, we got to ask quetions about becoming an administrator to our administrative team at RHS. It was really interesting to see the progression from a teacher to an administrator. For example, Ms. Iosso went from being a special education teacher to the prinicpal.
3. Barriers to Learning projects
In the first marking period, we had a partner and made a project about things that might hinder a students ability to learn. I did mine about bullying, because I had a very personal encounter with bullying. It was interesting to find out about all the statistics.
4. Mini Lessons
To start to understand the world of teaching, we all taught mini lessons for a grade and subject we might enjoy in the future. I taught a mini lesson on The Periodic Table, because I hope to becaome a chemistry teacher.
5. American Education Night
In the beginning of November, I was in a room with other Tomorrow's Teachers. In the room, we taught some of our mini lessons. I was one of the students who were selected to teach their mini lesson. It was cool to teach people other than my fellow teachers.
6. Rider Class
Throughout the year, I attended an online Introduction to Education course through Rider University. It was a really cool expierence because I got to meet so many new people from different schools who were interested in the same career as me!
7. Bulletin Board
I was a part of the second group of people to make the bulletin board. It made me expand my creative thinking, and helped be better understand the struggles teachers go through.
