I taught a lesson on halves. I followed a similar lesson plan to my last math lesson. I started off with the children on the mat and I told them a story about a birthday cake. The children both wanted cake, so how would they both get an even amount? From there, I made the children answer my question about the cake. Then, I gave them playdoh and made them make pancake and make them split them in half and share the halves with friends. I could not finish the rest of the lesson due to my time constrains. I liked the lesson and I feel as though it was very effective.
