After making a Unit Lesson Plan using the Everyday Math curriculum, I was able to use my first lesson plan from the unit plan. I taught the children what a non defining attribute is versus and defining attribute of a shape. The lesson started out with a story about two children drawing shapes. Then, the students went back to their desks and built shapes out of straws and twist-ties. Unfortunately, because of the time, I could not finish my lesson because of the fact that I had to go back to school. It was so exciting to teach my first lesson in an elementary school!
